Friday 13th, 7.30pm.

'Murder in the Market House' with Vahalla Street Theatre.
Ards Arts Centre.

We find ourselves in Newtown in the turbulent year of 1778. Britain is at war with the American Colonies, and an American warship has been spotted off the Eastern coastline of the Ards Peninsula, throwing the region into panic.
A fear exists that the French will soon join the cause of the American colonists. Here in Newtown a volunteer army has been raised known as the Ards Independents commanded
by Robert Stewart. A dinner is being held this night in the Market House to celebrate this momentous occasion.
Honourable guests have arrived from Dublin Castle, who are members of the Viceroy's staff. But all is not as it seems, there is a dark undercurrent in the Market House this night and a score is soon to be settled.

One of the guests has MURDER on their mind!

It is doubtful that we will be able
to frustrate the murderer before
they strike, but be assured that by the end of the evening we will
bring the culprit to justice! Your duty is to help uncover why and who committed the dastardly deed of Murder in the Market House!!

Friday Night Live: Cara Cowan & Donal Scullion.
Ards Arts Centre.

Daughter of Martin Cowan and niece of Greg Cowan, whom you may remember from the late 70's punk band 'The Outcasts', Cara is taking the Northern Ireland music scene by storm. Recently she recorded a cover of one of their songs 'Magnum Force' along with her own track 'Noman's Force' in the Oh Yeah recording studio, which will be on the Good Vibrations celebration album.
Donal began writing songsat a pretty early age and his songwriting style has become very eclectic and cross-genre due to the diversity of his influences which range from folk to heavy metal, classical to jazz, irish trad to soul, electronic to rock and roll and everything in between. Donal writes songs about all sorts of things: love, politics, friendship, religion, society, drinking, addiction and even the passing away of a pet goldfish, to name but a few. He won the coveted Avalon Gold Guitar at the 2007 Ards International Guitar Festival for his songwriting and performance skills and we're delighted to have him back to perform as part of the Friday Night Live Concert series.
